How to apply to become a driving instructor
The process of qualifying as an approved driving instructor is controlled by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). As well as a criminal record disclosure number, they’ll ask for your driving licence number and details of any driving offences or court cases brought against you. What’s involved in a driving instructor assessment?
The assessment aspect of becoming a driving instructor consists of three main parts:
Part 1: theory test
Part 2: practical driving test
Part 3: instructional ability test.
